To find out exactly how you can get rid of blood stains from office chairs and how you should do it on leather chairs, keep reading!

Removing Blood Stains on Office Chairs:

It is wise to remove the bloodstains from the office chair upholstery as soon as possible. The longer you wait, the harder it gets to remove the stains.

Don’t worry if the stain on your office chair is fresh or old. I will help you to remove the stain completely.

All you have to do is follow the steps below:

Step One – Pour Coldwater or Ice on the Blood Stain:

This step is very effective if the stain is new. Trust me, pouring cold water will stop the spreading of the stain.

It is better to use a sponge or soft rag wet with cold water. Rub the rag or sponge with cold water on the stain. The stain will immediately stop spreading.

Whatever you do, don’t apply heated water. It will promote the spreading.

Step Two – Get a bottle of Hydrogen Peroxide:

Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) is an awesome cleaner and disinfectant. [Source]

You can clean almost all types of office chairs with it but if your office chair is made of leather, then don’t. H2O2 can decolorize some type of leather.

However, most types of fabric office chairs can be cleaned with hydrogen peroxide.

Step Three – Start Spot Testing:

Don’t apply the hydrogen peroxide directly on the spot. It is wise to test the substance on a hidden spot to see if the upholstery of your office chair is okay with hydrogen peroxide.

H2O2 or Hydrogen Peroxide is slightly acidic. It won’t harm the fabric of your chair. But the testing needs to be done just in case, you know!

Step Four – Apply the H2O2 Directly On The Stain:

After the spot testing is done and you see that the office chair is not harmed by the application of hydrogen peroxide, it is time to apply it directly on the bloodstain spot.

Apply in small amounts, and you will notice that the color of the blood is disappearing.

Step Five – Apply More If The Stain Remains:

Unless the blood-stain is old. It should be gone by now. But if the stain still persists, apply the hydrogen peroxide again.

This time, increase the amount.

Now, you will notice that the blood stain on your office chair is dissolved by hydrogen peroxide. It is gone completely.

Step Six – Clean the Spot with Water:

Now, as the stain is removed from your office chair, it is time to remove the remaining hydrogen peroxide from your chair.

If you leave it for a long time, it might weaken the fabric of the upholstery. So rinse it with enough water and call it a day.

You can apply this method to most types of office chairs. But when it comes to a leather chair, you should take a different approach to get rid of blood stains. Let’s check that out.

So, How do you get Blood Stains out of Leather office chairs?

I have discussed earlier that you can not use H202 or hydrogen peroxide to remove blood stains from leather chairs, as it will damage the leather material.

The stain can be fresh or old. Let’s discuss what should you do if the stain is fresh and what if its old and dry.

If the Blood Stain is Fresh:

Take a soft and clean rug and blot the stain on the surface of the leather upholstery of your office chair. Don’t wipe on it. Wiping will spread the stain.

Now, take a mild soap solution and go over the blood stain on the leather thoroughly. If the stain is fresh, it will do the trick. You don’t have to do anything else.

If the Blood Stain is Dry and Old:

If the stain of the leather surface of your office chair has been there for a while, it won’t be that easy to remove. Don’t lose hope. There is always a way.

If the blood stain on your chair is old and dry, follow the steps below:

Step 1: Scrape off the dry blood with a Brush:

Scraping off the leather upholstery using a brush that has a stiff bristle will make it easy to get rid of the blood stain completely.

Step 2: Get a Dedicated Leather Cleaner:

A dedicated leather cleaner is mandatory for this step. You can use any leather cleaner you already have. But if you are looking to get one, you can buy Leather cleaner from the brand Chemical guys. You can find it on Amazon here.

Step 3: Treat the Spot with the Leather Cleaner:

Pour the leather cleaner on a cloth and gently start rubbing it on the spot of your leather chair.

Keep rubbing until the stain tends to dissolve and starts to disappear. It can take a few minutes.

After that, let it dry for 10 minutes. Now, you can see that the stain is completely gone.

If you have a leather conditioner, use it. Your leather chair will look as good as new.
